Now 11th, Brentford hosts Manchester City in sixth. Brentford has had a relatively good season (especially at home), but it has become inconsistent in recent weeks. The Bees have won just one of their last seven matches, a 5-0 victory over bottom-of-the-table Southampton.
On the other side, the Citizens smashed Salford City 8-0 in Saturday’s FA Cup match, their third win in a row with 14 goals. While they’ve won their previous two Premier League games, they’re still two points off the top four and 12 points behind Liverpool. City is battling with multiple ailments, including Rodri’s season-ending ACL and meniscus injury. John Stones and Ruben Dias are still out with foot and muscular problems, respectively, while Nathan Aké is close to returning from a hamstring injury. Kyle Walker, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, and Ederson are all dealing with illness, which is limiting their availability. Additionally, Matheus Nunes and Manuel Akanji are healing from minor injuries, with returns expected in the following weeks.
