Match Review: Rangers vs Celtic FC? Team news, referee, VAR and How to watch
Rangers might go top of the Scottish Premiership for the first time in almost two years when they
entertain Celtic FC at Ibrox on Wednesday night.
Rangers have not enjoyed the view from the top of the table since January 2022, when Giovanni van
Bronckhorst’s team relinquished first place, with Celtic going on to win back-to-back titles before
opening up an eight-point lead in the first half of the current season.
That advantage has dwindled, with Rangers now only three points behind their opponents and a game in
hand, which they will use when they face Dingwall, who are preparing for their first encounter under
interim manager Don Cowie following Derek Adams’ departure last week.
Adams resigned after winning only two of his 12 games in command, criticizing both the standard of
Scottish football and the squad he inherited, and implying that he regretted leaving Morecombe to
return to County for a third term as manager.
The Highlanders are desperate for points to ease their relegation fears, but they will face a Rangers team
that knows they can leapfrog Celtic at the top if they win by three goals or more.

Rangers defender Dujon Sterling, who has recently played in midfield, will serve the second of his two-
game suspension for a red card received in the win over Aberdeen last week. Leon Balogun has been

Ross County has been without captain Jack Baldwin and goalie Ross Laidlaw (calf). Connor Randall has
underwent surgery, while Scott Allardice, Ross Callachan (both knees), Ryan Leak, and Dylan Smith
