Mateusz Klich’s new club want to elbow Leeds United aside and sign £15m star on 49ers radar

Mateusz Klich’s new club want to elbow Leeds United aside and sign £15m star on 49ers radar

During his most recent pre-match news conference, Daniel Farke made a passing reference to the possibility of acquiring a new striker. However, there is a player who is now on Leeds United’s radar who may be on his way to joining Mateusz Klich’s new club.

Joe Gelhardt is now scheduled to make a loan transfer to Hull City after Leeds has given their approval for his departure from the club. The completion of a transaction is anticipated to take place within the next forty-eight hours, and Gelhardt may make his debut the following Saturday.

While all is going on, Patrick Bamford has developed a new interest in Blackburn Rovers. John Eustace, Daniel Farke’s adversary, is interested in signing the former England player, despite the fact that Eustace is now out with an injury for a period of three more weeks.

After missing Saturday’s FA Cup victory over Harrogate Town, Joel Piroe is expected to make his comeback against Sheffield Wednesday the following weekend. However, Farke had just one striker available to pick from — Mateo Joseph — when he faced Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Mateusz Klich’s club chasing Leeds prospect Emmanuel Latte Lath

As far as LeedsUnited.News is aware, the club is interested in acquiring Latte Lath, and Middlesbrough is reportedly seeking a transfer price of at least fifteen million pounds for the Ivory Coast international. Michael Carrick has responded to the rumors that have been concerning him.

On Thursday, Farke reaffirmed his expectation that Leeds would have a relatively peaceful window of experience. But Farke did indicate Leeds would keep vigilant about a striker, but might find they miss out in the hunt for Latte Lath to Atlanta United.

Mateusz Klich’s new club have put two attackers on their January shortlist in the shape of Latte Lath and Crystal Palace’s Odsonne Edouard, according to The Athletic’s Tom Bogert in a post on his Instagram.

“Atlanta United DP No. 9 search update: Club focused on two targets, per sources: Emmanuel Latte Lath of Middlesbrough. Odsonne Edouard of Crystal Palace (loan at Leicester). Either would be a major deal.”

Latte Lath is an excellent signing, but Joel Piroe is far better

If Bamford follows Gelhardt out of the door when he returns to full fitness, it would come as no surprise. The £40,000-a-week star has yet to start a single Championship game for Leeds during the 2024-25 season.

So Leeds do need a striker, in the scenario. One should at least compete with Piroe and Joseph and there is no question Latte Lath does that because he is one of the finest centre-forwards in the Championship right now.

But, considering he would cost an eight-figure price, does it really make sense for The 49ers to sign Latte Lath when the figures reveal he would just play back-up to Piroe, who has 15 goals and assists this term?
