Scott Brown reacts to Fabio Silva controversy in Rangers v Ayr.

David Edgar has revealed how Scott Brown reacted to Fabio Silva’s challenge on Saturday, February 10, despite the fact that the Rangers forward had already received a yellow card.

The Wolves loanee has two goals in three games since coming at Ibrox during the January transfer window, thumping home the Gers’ second against Ayr United in the Scottish Cup.

However, the Ayr United manager and former Celtic midfielder believes Silva should not have been on the pitch to score the goal that doubled Rangers’ advantage with 15 minutes remaining..

The Hearts and Hand podcast founder wrote via X on Saturday (10 February): “This will shock you, so sit down for it, but Scott Brown thought Silva should have been sent off.”

Scott Brown returns to Rangers

Brown’s return to Ibrox for the first time since his Celtic days inevitably sparked debate.

Brown complained to the fourth official throughout the night, as is typical of him. Nothing less was expected of him, given the Old Firm’s lingering influence.

Whether he believes Silva should have been on the pitch or not, he was. Despite a rough night, the Portuguese attacker completed a beautiful move to secure Rangers’ spot in the next round.

The visitors should be very happy of their performance, as they were only behind 1-0 at halftime and had the opportunity to equalize against the Scottish Premiership team early in the second half.

It was not meant for them, though.Philippe Clement will still see a lot to improve on, with the Gers expecting to score more than two goals against the Championship side.
