Aston Villa ‘Make £21m Bid’ for ‘Very Dangerous’ Forward
Aston Villa has boosted its offer for Borussia Dortmund attacker Donyell Malen, as Unai Emery seeks to strengthen his squad, according to Florian Plettenberg on X.
Malen has sparked a lot of interest from Aston Villa during the January transfer window, and the move appears to be getting closer.According to GIVEMESPORT sources, the Dutch international is interested in joining Villa due to decreasing playing time in Germany.
Emery’s team is looking for a new forward, with Jon Duran attracting interest and Jadon Philogene perhaps joining Ipswich.Ollie Watkins has struggled to hit last season’s heights, making a fresh attacker a requirement as they pursue European qualification.
According to Sky Sports Germany, Villa have increased their bid for Dutch international Malen, who is described as “very dangerous”.
The Birmingham club’s newest bid is currently at £21 million, barely shy of Dortmund’s asking price of £25 million. Villa are looking to improve their forward line after their initial offer of £14.9 million plus add-ons was rejected last week. The club has already qualified for the Champions League knockout rounds and is pursuing European participation.
