Joe Taylor, who just joined Huddersfield Town from Luton Town for an unknown price, says he’s “delighted to

finally get this one over the line”.

By acquiring Taylor from the Championship team, Town has expanded their attacking options. The forward has a

contract with the Terriers through 2029.

The attacker, who made 13 appearances for the Hatters in the first half of this season, comes to the team after

scoring 22 goals during loan stints with Lincoln City and Colchester United last season.

Taylor is happy to have completed his transition once the transfer market reopened this month, having been on the

verge of signing with Town throughout the summer.

“Obviously I’m delighted to finally get this one over the line. It’s been in the pipeline for a long time now, and I’m just

thankful that this time we managed to sign on the dotted line,” Town’s new recruit told HTTV.

“The sporting director, Mark Cartwright, is largely responsible for this move. He has been the one who has, of

course, been in constant communication with my team. He has also been tenacious in this endeavour and has made

sure that it has crossed the finish line, for which I am quite thankful.

Throughout the time that Huddersfield has been interested, Michael Duff, the gaffer, and I have communicated as

much as possible. It has been helpful to have his support and guidance along the route, and I am now eager to get

started.

Town has its sights set on returning to the Championship this season, and Taylor joins a team that currently sits

fourth in the League One standings.

Michael Duff’s outfit are unbeaten in their last 15 league games, and are four points off the automatic promotion

spots with just over half of the season now played.

The new signing is hoping to play his part in sealing a return to the second tier for Town. He said: “The direction in

which the football club is going, obviously gunning for promotion, hopefully we do that automatically, and if not we’ll

hopefully go through the play-offs.

The new hire for Town is excited to get started while he is at John Smith’s Stadium. He declared, “I am a self-assured

man. Playing for a team that generates a lot of chances makes me think I’ll score a lot of goals.

“I am not naive, though; I am aware that I am still a young person with a lot of growth left in me, and I think this is a

football club where I will receive that.”

Taylor went on to say, “If I had to describe myself as a player in three words, I would say quick, powerful, and

clinical.” I believe these are what you need as a striker.
