New York Jets Acquire Pro Bowl, $60.8 Million Wide Receiver In Blockbuster Trade Proposal

The first season of Aaron Rodgers did not go exactly as planned. The New York Jets’ season took a nosedive after he tore his Achilles tendon during the fourth play of the season at MetLife Stadium. The team finished with a 7-10 record and missed the playoffs for the 13th straight year, which is the longest active drought in US professional sports.

Zach Wilson had another mainly poor season, with occasional standout performances against Kansas City and the Philadelphia Eagles. Woody Johnson, the owner of the Jets, has stated that Wilson is not even a backup quarterback.

A major contributing factor to this, aside from a weak offensive line marred by injuries, was the inexperienced quarterback’s lack of appropriate weapons. After signing free agent Allen Lazard, the Jets had no one who had a significant impact on the club save Garrett Wilson, the previous Offensive Rookie of the Year.

One of the worst receiving trios in football history, the team was forced to depend on guys like undrafted rookies Xavier Gipson and Jason Brownlee, who ended up being the team’s second and third options behind Wilson. The Jets actually just need an upgrade at offensive tackle and weapons for Aaron Rodgers now that he is back, combined with a formidable, well-coached defensive team and a top-tier interior offensive line when healthy.

The Denver Broncos, who may be in the midst of an offensive revamp led by quarterback Russell Wilson, have been linked to trade receiver Courtland Sutton to the New York Jets in exchange for a fourth-round selection. This trade was suggested by Connor Rogers of Badlands.
