Southampton player ‘perfect’ for manager, ‘favourite’ target for club in January – Offer could be on cards

In the winter transfer window, Genoa has set themselves up to acquire Southampton’s Kamaldeen Sulemana. Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the Serie A team is looking to strengthen their attack and has a number of names on their list.

This includes Gonçalo Borges of FC Porto and the Southampton player, and Borges will be hard to sign for the Serie A team. Patrick Vieira, the manager of Genoa, is searching for a player to fit into his 4-3-3 system because he doesn’t have enough options in attack. Under the Frenchman’s guidance, the Italian team thinks Sulemana and the Porto player could be “perfect.”

According to Di Marzio, the Ghanaian international has been named their “favourite” target. Although Genoa hasn’t made an official offer for the 22-year-old yet, they may do so soon because the manager and the club support the move. Sulemana nearly joined Ajax last summer after they reached an agreement with Southampton, but the transfer fell through because of administrative problems. He has made 11 appearances this season, including two starts, since returning to St. Mary’s.
