Fresh Reading FC takeover update as administration, Rob Couhig and Paul Taylor mentioned
There has been a new takeover update regarding Reading FC that includes speculation about Rob Couhig, Paul Taylor, and possible administration.
Among other things, Tim Dellor, a journalist for BBC Radio Berkshire, has disclosed that senior management is worried about how the club will pay its costs this month because there is now no money coming in.
Even though the Royals are performing well in the league, they have been in limbo for a long now after Rob Couhig’s attempt to purchase the team in September fell through.

The club’s survival and funding have also raised serious concerns, with some supporters fearing that the Berkshire team would not survive until the conclusion of the season.
However, since Dai Yongge pledged to sell the club in 2023, there has been a significant amount of interest in the club anyway.
It has now been established that Paul Taylor was the bidder, and the club was even in an exclusive period back in October.
Even if his time of exclusivity is up, he still shows interest in the club, so it will be intriguing to watch what the next few weeks bring.
Reading FC takeover update emerges
BBC Radio Berkshire journalist Dellor claims that the Royals have three options because of their concerns about how the bills will be paid.
A prospective bidder might contribute money to the club, the club could go into administration, or players could be sold to make up the difference.
Taylor, who must pass EFL exams, is presently a “serious contender” to purchase the team; but, the club will begin negotiating with other bidders at the beginning of next week if he doesn’t show further interest.
The club’s present owner, Mr. Dai, is allegedly holding weekly meetings in the UK to discuss the club’s sale.
Couhig is still in the race to try and purchase the Royals – and it’s believed that the legal action he has taken against Mr Dai won’t be an issue in terms of getting a sale over the line – which is a bit of positive news.
Nigel Howe is also back involved after his ban.
Reading FC fans will be nervous about the short and long term
The Royals’ supporters have fought for their club in the last 18 months and deserve an end to this saga.
But they will be worried, both about the short term and the longer term.
Since they already lack squad depth and might suffer greatly if they lose one or two important players, player sales would not be good news for them in the near future.
It would be devastating for them to lose Harvey Knibbs, who has recently been connected to transfers to Derby County and Oxford United.
There are still concerns over the club’s long-term prospects.
Fans will be hoping that there is significant progress on a sale in the upcoming days and weeks because a lot of players have contracts that expire at the end of the season, and it might be disastrous if they don’t have a takeover by then.
