He’s not contributing anything – Former top flight star on Celtic player.
Former Premier League player Gordon Dalziel has stated that Callum McGregor’s current form should be
a source of concern for Celtic, since the club captain is not doing anything on the pitch.
McGregor is the first name on Brendan Rodgers’ squad sheet and has had a long and successful career at Celtic.
Following Scott Brown’s departure a few years back, he became club captain and has played a significant role in Celtic’s continuous domestic success.
Dalziel, on the other hand, emphasized that his performances have plummeted this season, and he is currently making little addition to the club on the field.
The former top-flight star stated that it is difficult for the team to pick itself up when the club captain is not performing to his full potential.
Dalziel commented on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard, “The captain is the main man for me.”
“He is the leader, the one everyone looks up to, the person who speaks up in the huddle, the guy who has won
everything for Celtic and understands what it takes.
“Whether he is just having a real run of bad form, I don’t know but he is not contributing anything.”
McGregor will aim to improve, as he is unlikely to be pulled from the team due to his status at the club.
