Kieran Maguire shares brand new UEFA figures as £18m+ Rangers news drops at Ibrox.

Kieran Maguire has shared the UEFA prize money collected by all British clubs in the 2022/23 season. Rangers earned £18.2

million for their participation in the Champions League.

The finance guru released the newest data via his X account on February 8th. Celtic earned £26 million from the competition due

to their two group stage draws, while Rangers lost all six games.

Manchester City, meanwhile, won £130 million for winning the competition, widening the financial gap between Scotland’s top

teams and those in England.

Rangers making Champions League money

The club has budgeted for this season’s spending, including the £4.5 million signing of Mohamed Diomande.

European

qualifying, especially in the Champions League, is vital for incoming funds.

When these data are disclosed next year, Rangers may well outperform their Old Firm rivals due to their elimination from the

Europa League group stage, whereas Celtic were the typical whipping boys of their Champions League group.

Celtic’s qualification to the group stage could be essential this season, as it can mean the difference between increased transfer

spending and budget cuts regardless of league finish.

Rangers, on the other hand, have advanced from their Europa League group and will attempt to move as far as possible in the

competition, with the goal of emulating and improving their position under Giovanni van Bronckhorst in 2022.
