Finance Expert: 777 make Everton takeover power play in message to Premier League

777 Partners make Everton takeover power play to Premier League – Expert

Dan Plumley has revealed that 777 Partners tried a power play in a fresh statement to the Premier League regarding their planned Everton purchase.

The club received a £30 million cash injection from an American investment firm, but a decision on the takeover is expected soon.

The football finance specialist claimed that there is “tit-for-tat” going on, citing Richard Masters’ recent admission that the Premier League requires more information before making a decision.

“It’s an interesting line,” he told Goodison News.

“Listen, we never get the whole picture, do we?” You believe there is a power play going on here, most likely involving 777 and the Premier League. It might be a way for them to nudge the Premier League and say, “We’re still here, and we’re putting money into the club, so you need to get this takeover signed off quickly.”

“On the other hand, just a week or two ago, the Premier League’s top executive stated that they had not received all of the answers to the questions they had requested from 777 regarding the takeover.”

“There is a little bit of tit-for-tat going on right now, and I have a feeling that if that line came directly from 777, there will be a little bit of a power play angle to it. None of this is good for the club, of course.”

February will be a busy month at Goodison Park, as the first appeal against the points deduction is set to be resolved soon.

The takeover plus positive news on the appeal would make it the perfect month, albeit fingers are crossed on all fronts right now.
