Rangers have appeal against Dujon Sterling red card dismissed.

Rangers’ appeal against defender Dujon Sterling’s red card against Aberdeen on Tuesday was dismissed.

In the Gers’ 2-1 Premiership victory at Ibrox, referee Don Robertson showed replacement Sterling a straight red card in the 88th minute for a tackle on Jack MacKenzie.

Robertson maintained his decision despite the VAR’s request that he review his pitchside monitor.

Rangers’ appeal to the Scottish Football Association resulted in a fast track tribunal hearing on Thursday, with the claim dismissed and the original sentence upheld.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement said of the incident after Tuesday’s game: “It was a tough decision for me. Dujon slipped and banged the toes.
