Blackburn Rovers are apparently planning to replace one former Leeds United midfielder with another.
Lewis Baker, a former Leeds loanee, recently left Ewood Park after being recalled by his parent club Stoke City.
He has been an important role for the Championship club, both on the pitch and in the dressing room, but it looks that a replacement has been lined up.
According to reporter Alan Nixon’s Patreon page, Baker’s old Leeds teammate Adam Forshaw has signed for Blackburn.
The 33-year-old is now on the books at Plymouth Argyle, having arrived from Norwich City in January of last year.
An experienced Championship operator, he was a dependable figure at Elland Road but struggled with injury in West Yorkshire.
He was a member of the Leeds squad that secured promotion to the Premier League in 2020, and he was also in the side when the Whites were relegated three years later.
He came up through Everton’s youth and went on to play for Middlesbrough, Brentford, and Wigan Athletic.
According to the report, Forshaw will join Blackburn for the remainder of the season, providing valuable experience to the Rovers’ ranks.
