Newcastle United is preparing to surpass Aston Villa by £25 million. ‘Best player in the world’ prediction for a Bundesliga winger

According to reports, Newcastle United has a number of targets in mind to expand their options down the right side, but it is unclear if they will make a deal in January or hold off until the summer.

It’s unclear exactly who the Magpies’ “top priority” is at this time, but players like Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford and Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth are probably high on the list. However, given the high costs and the rarity of a Premier League club dealing with a rival, it would be nearly impossible to complete deals for either of those in January.

Because their teams don’t want to sell, Johan Bakayoko from PSV and Kang-in Lee from PSG have both essentially been ruled out.

However, according to German publication Bild, Newcastle isn’t giving up and is now attempting to outbid Aston Villa for the services of Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund.

According to German media, Donyell Malen is a target for Newcastle, Tottenham, and Aston Villa.
The two clubs have not yet agreed on a fee, despite reports that Villa and Malen have already agreed on personal terms. Dortmund wants to recover the £25 million they paid PSV in 2021.

Newcastle should be able to pay £25 million in January, and since Rafael Van Der Vaart has predicted that Malen will be among “the best players in the world,” we should try our hardest to sign him first.

It might turn into a bit of a struggle because Tottenham is also considering moving to outbid Villa before they can agree on a price with Dortmund.

The Malen connections aren’t exciting us too much.
The 25-year-old has only made 13 appearances (six starts) for Dortmund this season, but he has scored three goals in those games.

According to Bild, Newcastle has not yet made a serious commitment to Malen, so it seems doubtful that he would move to Tyneside, particularly if he is being considered as a backup in case other bids fall through.

What bids, is the question? In January, have we really taken any action yet? It doesn’t seem that way.
