Rangers: Chris Jack shares new John Lundstram contract update at Ibrox

Talks between angers and John Lundstram are “on course,” according to Chris Jack, as they finalize the details of a contract renewal.

Since the Belgian player came to Ibrox, the English midfielder has been an integral component of Philippe Clement’s midfield, emerging as one of the first names on the team sheet with strong showings against teams like St. Mirren and Hibernian.

Lundstram’s Glasgow contract is scheduled to expire at the end of the current campaign, however Jack, a journalist for Rangers Review, has stated that negotiations are moving forward and it will be up to the Gers to announce an extension.
He stated, “As far as I know, it is still very much on course. The manager said that he was keen to keep him after the Dumbarton game,” in a video posted on the Rangers Review YouTube channel on February 8.

“I know John has expressed a desire to stay, and from the sounds of things, it’s just a matter of settling on the terms before Rangers make the announcement.”

Philippe Clement desires that John Lundstram remain with the Rangers.
Since moving to Ibrox, Clement has been concerned about the center of the park because of injuries to players like Ryan Jack, Lundstram, and Tom Lawrence, which have severely restricted the Belgian’s choices this season. With the additions made in January, Lundstram won’t be a guaranteed starter, but he will definitely have a role to play. In the biggest matches where there is a need for more control and a bit of finesse in the middle of the park, there are few better in Rangers’ camp than Lundstram. Nevertheless, he has been available week in and week out and has managed to put in some remarkable performances, with pundits being astounded by his “wonderful” range of passing and suggestions that it should be the Gers’ top priority to tie him down. Looks like the Light Blues have listened to those requests and put the wheels in motion to keep the 29-year-old at Ibrox for the foreseeable future. One of Clement and the Rangers’ best moves of the season may have been to secure his future. In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson has given his assessment of the Celtic-Gers title battle this year.
