Sean Dyche reveals to Everton Youngster that he is enjoying what he is doing.

Lewis Dobbin is still growing as a player, and Everton manager Sean Dyche has emphasised that the few opportunities he gets to play in some games are helping him gain more confidence.

The 21-year-old winger, a graduate of the Everton youth, has played for Dyche’s first team on Merseyside this year.

He has made eight Premier League games this season, although only one of those came in the starting eleven under the Everton manager, who is currently introducing him gradually to senior football.

Dyche stated that he does not want to go too quickly because Dobbin is still very much a player in the early stages of his development.

Insisting that the winger’s recent cameos will only boost his confidence moving ahead, he expressed satisfaction with the winger’s hard effort in training.

When asked if Dobbin could see more playing time, the Everton manager responded in a news conference, saying, “He has been around all season and he has done well.”

“We felt that he performed well in the preseason and that he saw some game action in the early going, but he is still growing.”

“We are enjoying what he is doing, but he is a player who is developing and I think he has more to come.”

“He is putting in a lot of effort in his training, and every little role he plays in games helps to strengthen his belief.”

“That seems important to me.”

Dobbin will be looking for more playing time in the second half of the season, but with Everton engaged in yet another relegation battle, it’s unclear whether Dyche will give him the opportunity.
