Sunderland have already confirmed a January transfer for AS Roma midfielder Enzo Le Fee.
The French midfielder will be on loan at the Stadium of Light, with the option to buy if the Black Cats are promoted to the Premier League.
While Sunderland still have a long way to go to secure their status in the first tier, Le Fee’s arrival at the club may have an impact on Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Frenchman was in Milan yesterday to arrange a trade for Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi, but his future with the Giallorossi is uncertain, and he may leave the club at the end of January.
If not this month, Ghisolfi may depart from Roma after the end of the season. Whatever happens, his fate appears to be sealed, and Giovanni Sartori of Bologna is regarded as a plausible candidate to succeed him.
According to the report, Le Fee’s departure to Sunderland just six months after arriving from Rennes is a’mini-failure’ for Ghisolfi.
The director’s ‘flagship’ move to bring the 24-year-old to Rome in the summer has been revealed, and the fact that the transfer hasn’t worked out could cost him his job.
