Hull City are interested in signing Jan Ziółkowski, a young centre-back from Legia Warsaw.
According to a report from Samuel Szczygielski via Polish news site Meczyki on Monday night, the Ekstraklasa club has received bids for the highly-rated defender from both the Tigers and Cremonese of the Italian Serie B league.
Ruben Selles is seeking to boost his squad as much as possible in the winter transfer window, with City sitting just inside the Championship relegation zone heading into the FA Cup Third Round weekend, when they visit Doncaster Rovers on Sunday lunchtime.
A number of players with a mix of experience and youth have been connected with moves to the MKM Stadium, including the central defence duo of Willy Boly and Ryan Porteous from Nottingham Forest and Watford. To secure the 19-year-old Ziółkowski, City must compete with other European clubs interested in his services.
Hull City made an offer for Jan Ziółkowski.
As previously said, Samuel Szczygielski – via Meczyki – has reported that Hull are one of two clubs said to have made an approach for the defender, who has recently made four appearances for Poland’s Under-20 team after making his debut at this age group in September.
Cremonese, who are currently fourth in Serie B, are the other club to have made an offer for Legia’s academy graduate, who is under contract at the Stadion Wojska Polskiego until the summer of 2026, having signed his most recent deal in September – which is said to include a two-year extension option.
According to the source, there are “many indications” that Ziółkowski would leave his local club in the next weeks. However, the financial details of any bids from Hull or the Italian side are unclear at this time.
This follows Anderlecht’s rumoured interest in the teenager, who has made only 14 appearances for Legia’s senior team since making his debut in a 3-0 home loss to Radomiak last May, and has not started a game for the club since September 1st.
