Celtic project hooks up with superstar Olivier Giroud as transfer insider triggers big hope
Odin Thiago Holm has decided to leave Celtic on loan, joining MLS powerhouse LA FC to play alongside French talents Olivier Giroud and Hugo Lloris. The 21-year-old Norwegian will try to launch his career in the United States after finding it difficult to make an impression on the Hoops team this season. Although Holm is awaiting the approval of his visa, he is anticipated to join the ambitious team for the preseason before the new Major League Soccer season begins in March.Neil McGuinness, the Scottish technical director of LA FC and a former Celtic talent scout, told Record Sport: “He’s a very good player who hasn’t had much of a chance at Celtic for whatever reason.” I was interested in him when I saw him in Norway.
However, it’s clear that Celtic and Europe had a strong attraction. He reads the game well, can swiftly escape from pressure situations, and has a decent passing range. He is a very excellent player technically. I believe he can return to a high level if he spends the entire preseason with us. He has a whole year to establish his worth. The highly regarded Holm joined Brendan Rodgers’ first team lineup after joining for £2 million from Valerenga in the summer of 2023. However, after taking a knock during the second half of the season, he lost ground and missed a significant portion of last summer’s preseason.
The young player still has a Parkhead deal till 2028, but he will have an opportunity in the United States. Luis Palma, a wide player, is expected to sign a loan deal with Rayo Vallecano of Spain.Although he played a significant part in last season’s double, the Honduran forward has also had difficulty getting into the game this season. The 24-year-old, who cost about £3 to sign, is anticipated to stay with the La Liga team through the end of the current campaign.
