Rush hour crash on Colne Road in Kelbrook sees car flip onto roof

A automobile landed on its roof after colliding with a stalled vehicle during rush hour.

The black Ford Fiesta was driving down the A56 Colne Road in Kelbrook when it collided with a white Fiat 500 and flipped onto its roof.

The incident was reported to emergency services at roughly 8.20 a.m. on Thursday, and ambulance personnel are still on the site treating the injured driver.

A representative for the ambulance service stated, “We were called to Colne Road, Kelbrook, at 8.19am due to reports of an RTC.”

“An ambulance is still on scene and we are treating a man in his 20s.” The man was transported to Airdale Hospital with shoulder pain.

Tracy Glegg, an eyewitness, told the Telegraph: “I didn’t think anyone was badly hurt because everyone was just standing around.”

“I’ve lived in Earby for 22 years and have lost count of the amount of accidents I’ve witnessed along this stretch of road.

“Someone will be killed before anything is done.

“As it was, traffic hadn’t backed up, but it would’ve been terrible five minutes later.

“I believe the lolly pop man was knocked over further along the road last week in Foulridge.”

Traffic management is in place, and traffic is flowing slowly on the A56 near the Craven Heifer Inn.

A police spokesperson stated, “We were called by the ambulance service at around 8.25 a.m. to assist with a crash on Colne Road.”

“The automobile was upside down on its roof.

“A Ford Fiesta smashed into a stalled automobile.

“Traffic management is in place while vehicle awaits recovery.”
