We want to add quality in transfer window – Eustace

Blackburn hopes to sign “one or two” players of “real quality” during the January transfer window, according to head coach John Eustace.

Rovers are currently in fifth place in the Championship following a six-game winning streak that moved them within five points of the automatic promotion spots.

“After all the effort we’ve put in, I believe it’s crucial. Everyone associated with the football team, in my opinion, wants to continue adding talented players to the team,” Eustace said on BBC Radio Lancashire.

“We all want to continue being competitive and advancing the league. Our current group is fiercely competitive, and I have no doubt that they will be looking for strong applicants. Both employees and fans will.

“It’s a group effort – we’ve got to where we are now together and if we can bring in a couple of real quality players to help the group, that’s all we ask for.”

Eustace responded, “I hope so,” when asked if the team is “ready” to sign any transfer targets early in the window. We are playing the game for that reason. We wish to continue building and succeed.

“The sooner we can bring quality to the group, the better for everyone.”

Eustace went on to say that Blackburn “don’t want to bring lots of players in now” but rather ones that will improve the team’s performance.

“All of us just want one or two real good quality, top players to come in and really help the group,” he stated.
