The Sun claims that despite connections to Forest, the Botafogo attacker has now approved moves by Premier League teams. In addition to the Reds, Fulham manager Marco Silva and Ipswich are also interested in acquiring the £21 million striker before the transfer window closes. Jesus, a striker who is 23 years old, has scored 56 goals in 168 games for his current team, who won the Brazilian championship for the first time this season. Jesus was reportedly coveted by Arsenal, but Botafogo was unwilling to allow him to depart on loan—the kind of agreement the Gunners had pressed for.

Jesus is the kind of person Forest will be searching for.

Strangely, considering how well Wood is performing, Forest won’t want a striker to join who will gripe about not getting enough first-team playing time. The 33-year-old will continue to serve as the team’s primary lucky charm, so if a striker is added, it must be someone who can provide something new. Jesus is a player who would need to establish himself in England, but the burden would be somewhat relieved given Forest’s strong league performance. The Brazilian talisman appears to be the kind of player the hiring team will consider to have the ideal profile, and at 23, he has plenty of time on his side.
