TOTTENHAM TOLD EVERTON 26-YEAR-OLD ‘WISHES’ HE PLAYED FOR ANGE POSTECOGLOU

Everton, 26, was told by Tottenham that he “wishes” he had played for Angelo Postekoglou.

The most reliable wager you can place is that Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Everton won’t be included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the upcoming Euro 2024.

The 26-year-old was chosen to start behind Tottenham striker Harry Kane at Euro 2020, but injuries have wrecked the player ever since, and he is currently trying to find consistency and score goals.

Despite playing a part in Everton’s equalizer, Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed a goal for the twelfth consecutive Premier League match on Saturday as Sean Dyche’s team drew 2-2 with Spurs.

According to Martin Keown, who spoke to Football Focus, the Englishman “wishes” he was playing for Ange Postecoglou’s fluid Tottenham team because of the opportunities a player such as Richarlison has.

When Antonio Conte had the Brazil international playing in a defensive formation, he only managed one Premier League goal during that season.

But in the present, he has nine goals in his previous eight games and is playing at Goodison Park like he used to.

While Martin Keown believes that Richarlison also loses out on opportunities, he is still fed, in contrast to Dominic Calvet-Lewin.

Spurs’ Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Keown remarked, “With Calvert-Lewin, it’s interesting.” “Given how many chances Richarlison has to score, I’m sure he wishes he was on the Spurs team.

“Richarlison is starting to get off to a great start. He has nine from eight*, but he does miss a few.”

It takes time, Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Indeed, even if he has avoided the treatment room this season, Calvert-Lewis hasn’t played at his best.

However, he has currently participated in 25 games for Everton across all competitions. He last participated in as many games as he did in the 20–21 campaign, when he scored 16 goals in the Premier League.

It doesn’t help that he is always hurting, that his play is always stop-start, that he lacks rhythm, that managers are changing all the time, or that the defensive system he plays in is always changing.

Everton will be alright if they don’t lose any more points. At that point, they should support Calvert-Lewin, stay with him, and return the following season when he will be performing at his peak.
