Club giving up on signing Rangers player – Philippe Clement winning transfer battle after weeks of fighting
It has been reported that Rıdvan Yılmaz will remain at Ibrox until the conclusion of this season for
Rangers boss Philippe Clement.
The 22-year-old has been the target of Galatasaray for the previous few weeks, but they haven’t
been able to convince the Rangers to allow him to leave Ibrox.
The window is open in Turkey until Friday, and according to earlier reports, the Istanbul club is
still attempting to persuade Philippe Clement’s side. If a story from Sabah is to be accepted, the
Turkish club appears to be losing faith in the Rangers player.
Galatasaray now needs to sign a left-back before the winter market ends later this week, which is
made more necessary by Angeliño’s departure. They were hoping to find Turkish players and a
cheap price.
It is clarified that Galatasaray has held meetings to try and acquire Yılmaz and Levent Mercan from
Rangers and Fatih Karagümrük, respectively. They were unable to reach an agreement with the
Rangers defender and his countryman, though.
Galatasaray appears to be concentrating more on Caner Erkin of Eyüpspor. Derrick Köhn of Hannover, according to Millyet, has also been singled out for attack.
According to NTV Spor, the Süper Lig side has given up on Yılmaz and Mercan and is now concentrating on Köhn. This should satisfy Philippe Clement as well as Rangers, who can now unwind knowing they can hang onto the player without any problems until the very end of the season.
