Neil Warnock declares his admiration for the Dunoon fans group while getting ready to humiliate his Rangers teammates at Ibrox.

On his tantalizing Reds dugout debut at Ibrox, new Aberdeen manager Neil Warnock has disclosed that he has already been informed by his Rangers-dumb friends that they would send him pelters.

The 75-year-old, who lives in Dunoon, Argyll and Bute, has been a frequent guest of the Rangers Supporters Club. When he leads out one of the club’s biggest opponents, Warnock says he enjoys the hospitality of the local light blue legions but doesn’t anticipate a warm reception from those inside the Govan ground.

But Warnock would like nothing more than to quiet the home crowd by emulating his predecessor Barry Robson‘s thrilling 3-1 victory there earlier in the campaign, which led to Michael Beale’s firing at Rangers. Despite the history of animosity between the two teams, the seasoned manager said to Sky Sports, “I like rivalry.” To be honest, you wouldn’t place a lot of money on us if you were betting on it. But isn’t that how football is? There are surprises to be found everywhere. Our goal is to attempt to win the game.

“Everyone I know will be there.” The fan group for Dunoon Rangers. There, I’ve enjoyed a few pleasant afternoons. They take good care of you and are quite entertaining. They promised to give me some stick while I’m on the sidelines. It’s a great club, and I enjoy watching games there, but to be very honest, nothing would make me happier than to defeat them.

It’s conceivable for anything. When you look at past years, they will be disappointed with how their performance has been in the league, but that is no longer the case. Focusing on what’s in front of us is essential. We’re going to do that because, at my age, you just look at what’s there. After our game against the Rangers, we’ll play the Cup game on Saturday. Though it’s a tired cliché, it has to do with the upcoming game.
