Aston Villa dilemma over transfer offer explained – Monchi has to choose who to let go
Valencia have formally asked Aston Villa to loan youngster Kosta Nedeljkovic, but Monchi is delaying a decision until he decides who goes where.
According to AS and Marca, the Aston Villa director of football must choose which of numerous players on the escape ramp will be loaned abroad.
According to AS, Valencia has requested information on Nedeljkovic and has been informed by Aston Villa that they are considering their alternatives for the full back.
One is that Unai Emery will not allow a leave until he has signed a replacement.
Another reason he does not go is the Premier League’s foreign loan quota.
This is limited to six, and because Aston Villa already has Samuel Illing-Junior, Philippe Coutinho, Leander Dendoncker, Yeimar Mosquera, and Enzo Barrenechea on international loans, they can only sign one more.
There are presently three players that have the option of leaving on a ‘foreign loan’, and Monchi and Emery must decide who will do so.
According to Marca, Valencia has submitted an official request to Aston Villa for Nedeljkovic until Monchi ‘clarifies their map’, therefore no green light can be given.
