Ex-Colchester United loanee Aaron Donnelly on Dundee move

After signing the Scottish Premiership team for an unknown amount from Nottingham Forest, who remembered the defender from his loan stint at Colchester United, Donnelly has agreed to a three-and-a-half-year contract. After moving to the JobServe Community Stadium last summer, the 21-year-old made 22 league and cup appearances for the U’s during the first half of the season while on loan from Forest.

When the Dee host Glasgow Rangers at Dens Park tomorrow night, Donnelly, who had a great loan stint at Dundee the previous season, is expected to make his second appearance for the team. On the Dundee website, Donnelly stated: “I am so happy to be back at the club.”It was obvious to me to return up here as soon as I learned that the club was interested.

“My time here was excellent last season, really successful and I hope to pick up where I left on.”Last season, there was a genuine bond between the players and the supporters, and I’m eager to return to their presence in order to thank them for their wonderful support. “I can’t wait to see the fans at Dens Park again on Thursday night, and I’ll make sure to make a big noise.”
