In a game where legends are frequently created, however, Rangers may potentially be about to unveil a player with genuine promise.

A product of the Right to Dream academy, the 22-year-old Ivorian has been tipped to go on and achieve big things in the game but Rangers are a big step up from Denmark.

As part of that journey, Mohamed Diomande could be about to take his first steps onto the Ibrox pitch as a player and there are few better matches to do it than against Aberdeen.

Aberdeen clash comes at good time

Whilst Philippe Clement did admit the Ivorian midfielder wasn’t as fit as the fellow January signings Fabio Silva and Oscar Cortes, who have already played for the club, it isn’t expected to hold Diomande down for long.

With the Danish league on its mid-season shutdown it’s been a few weeks since Mohamed Diomande last played competitively but that should be no issue heading into the game.
