Everton had a very quiet January window because they were unable to make any transfers due to their financial situation.
While Sean Dyche would have loved to add more players to his struggling team, the existing state of the team made that unfeasible. The largest win, in actuality, came from holding onto important players like Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana, both of whom were being pursued by major teams.
Given their prior experience with loanees Jack Harrison and Arnaut Danjuma, the loan market appeared to be a viable path for investigation. But none of the other players were interested in joining, so now their only chance of survival is the free agency market, should they need a recruit.
Liverpool World has therefore made the decision to keep a watch on available out-of-contract players and determine whether Everton should sign any of them.
El Ghazi Anwar
El Ghazi, who is still only 28, previously made a brief loan move to Everton. In what was a terrible transfer that simply didn’t work out, he played just twice. Though it seems doubtful that he would come back after making such a terrible transfer, he is one of the few free agents with respectable Premier League experience and a threat on both wings.
Xeka
The Ligue 1 midfielder, 29, hasn’t had a contract since the summer and was last seen at Stade Rennais. His extensive experience in a deeper midfield role stems from his over 140 games played for Lille. He might provide a level of experience to a midfield that has been plagued by one or two injuries in recent games.
Jamiro Monteiro
Despite having played in the MLS and Eredivisie for the majority of his career, the seasoned midfielder from Cape Verde has never truly succeeded at the highest level. Nevertheless, he is a flexible midfield player with nearly endless versatility.
Costa Helder
Costa, who spent three seasons with Wolves before moving to Leeds in 2019, has a wealth of Premier League and Championship experience. He can play off either wing and be a reliable danger in reserve.
Marios Konstantinopoulos
When the Greek defender moved to Olympiakos and Sharjac FC in 2022, he stopped starting games for Napoli. With a wealth of experience, he might provide that additional depth at center defense.
M’Vila Yann
The defensive midfielder played for Inter Milan, Rubin Kazan, and Saint-Etienne before making his France international debut. He would provide depth and experience. He also played in the Premier League for Sunderland.image by ARIS MESSINIS
Nico Schulz
The seasoned left-back performed well during his time at Borussia Dortmund, his last club. As Dyche doesn’t have a natural replacement for Vitalyi Mykolenko, he would provide a more offensive threat from that position.
Campana, Jose
The midfielder, who has expertise in center midfield, was formerly with Crystal Palace but has also played in Italy, Germany, and Spain.
