Sheffield United submit ‘multi-million offer’ for player – Blades have clear advantage over rival
Sontje Hansen of NEC Nijmegen is a target for Sheffield United.
According to Football News, RC Lens has joined Sheffield United in the competition for the winger. This season, he made 18 appearances, scoring five goals and dishing out an assist.
The Dutch club has already received a “multi-million offer” from Chris Wilder’s team, who have turned their curiosity into a proposal.
According to the publication, the 22-year-old, who is “important” for NEC Nijmegen, has received an offer of €3.5 million from the Blades.
According to journalist Mounir Boualin, who covered this story, the Ligue 1 team must let go of a few players before attempting to sign the Dutchman. Ismaila Coulibaly was sold by Sheffield United earlier this month, completing that task.
Because of this, the Championship team has a distinct edge over Lens in the competition to hire the attacker.
Whether Hansen would be interested in joining Sheffield United during this window is unclear. They are currently in third place in the Championship, one point behind leaders Leeds United and tied with Burnley in second place.
In January, Wilder and his team will need to persuade Hansen to sign him.
