“My Regret” – Rangers-bound ace on agreed £400,000 reacts to ‘Incident’ in transfer window-Ibrox News

Rangers-bound Jefte apologises for January transfer window ‘incident’

Jefte apologized to APOEL on social media for his unsuccessful move to Rangers during the January transfer window.

On February 2, the full-back explained on Instagram that he went AWOL as the Light Blues were attempting to sign him from his parent club Fluminense before Deadline Day.

Rangers and the Brazilian team agreed on a £400,000 contract, but were unable to complete a permanent deal. As a result, the Cypriots requested a comparable amount to terminate the loan.

Despite being unable to move to Ibrox, Fabrizio Romano is anticipated to join Glasgow at the end of the season after reaching a verbal deal.

According to the Scottish Sun, the 20-year-old apologized to APOEL supporters, teammates, coach, president, and club officials for his absence. At the time of the incident, I felt unable to contribute to the club and left.

“The institution deserves my full commitment, dedication, and focus, as it has in recent months and will continue to do so in the future.

“We remain stronger than ever and are now 100% focused on the main objective of winning the championship.”

Rangers forced to wait for in-demand defender

Although Jefte was eager to join Rangers, he was unable to do so. As a result, he decided to stay at APOEL for the time being. The left-back position was a priority during the January transfer window, but neither Ridvan Yilmaz nor Borna Barisic have left, so the situation remains unchanged for the rest of the season.

The Croatian’s contract is up in the summer so if Rangers have an agreement in place to sign the young Brazilian it could be a one-in one-out arrangement at the end of the current campaign.

The biggest variable is undoubtedly Galatasaray’s continued drive to take the Turk away from Ibrox, although the situation remains unresolved after another window has closed.

Philippe Clement was able to sign three new players, but wanted for five. The situation with Jefte was most likely a source of frustration.

The Belgian must now pray that no injury or loss of form occurs between now and the summer, as this could jeopardize the future move.
