To “take defense to another level,” the Lions are urged to pursue the 2023 All-Pro.

The Detroit Lions, in the opinion of analysts, should acquire an additional edge rusher to support standout defensive end Aidan Hutchinson. However, Gordon McGuinness of Pro Football Focus used a different approach. In order to strengthen their middle defensive line, he called for the Lions to add another potent pass rusher this offseason. Justin Madubuike of the Baltimore Ravens was the ideal target, according to McGuinness.

“Adding an interior pass rusher like Madubuike could take the team’s defense to another level, but edge defender Aidan Hutchinson is already in or near the top tier at his position,” McGuinness wrote. “With a 77.7 PFF pass-rushing grade and 64 total pressures, including 31 combined sacks and quarterback hits, on 512 pass-rushing snaps, Madubuike is coming off a career year.”

In his fourth season in Baltimore, Madubuike made his first Pro Bowl and was selected to the second team of the All-Pro squad in 2023.Thirty-three quarterback hits, 12 tackles for loss, and 13 sacks were career highs for him. In addition, he recorded one forced fumble and a career-high 56 total tackles.
