Sahid Kamara has become the latest Birmingham City starlet to head out on loan now that the January transfer window is in full swing.
Kamara has joined National League South side Welling United on an initial loan until the end of January. Kamara is eligible to make his debut when Welling, who are currently 20th in the table, take on basement side Weymouth on Tuesday evening.
The midfielder has been a fixture in Steve Spooner’s under-21s side since joining the club from Charlton 18 months ago. Kamara played his part in helping the U21s reach the 2024 Professional Development League Final which they lost 2-0 to Sheffield United.
Kamara was rewarded for his fine first season with a place on the first team’s Austria training camp in July. The 20-year-old was one of several youngsters called up by Chris Davies and played in the pre-season opener against SC Paderborn 07.
He is the second Blues youngster to be loaned out this month after Brandon Khela signed for League Two side Bradford City last week. Fellow U21 player Josh Williams is currently on loan at National League side Gateshead.
