Lens manager Franck Haise has revealed that the team is nearing an agreement to loan Oscar Cortes to

Rangers with the option to buy.

That is according to writer Laurent Mazure, who shared the manager’s update with X on Thursday (1

February).

The 20-year-old Lens attacker has had four appearances for the French club, scoring one goal and

providing one assist.

The youngster’s arrival to Ibrox is near, and Gers fans can expect plenty of excitement once the

agreement is officially confirmed by their club.

Cortes has very little senior football experience, but Philippe Clement certainly sees potential in the

forward. And Colombia apparently rates him highly, as the national squad has handed a debut to the

attacker last year.

The Gers have already reinforced their assault this window with loanee Fabio Silva, but now Cortes will

join on a temporary basis with the potential to make it permanent.

That should be enough for the Scottish side to launch significant challenges in the Scottish Premiership,

Europa League, and Scottish Cup, given the team has already won the League Cup this season.

Clement may have needed a new forward after Abdallah Sima’s injury at the Africa Cup of Nations,

which appears to have sidelined him for quite some time.
