Glasgow Rangers manager Philippe Clement may make a late bid for a new striker in the closing hours of

the transfer window.

That is according to the Scottish Daily Mail (page 73, February 1),

which reported on the probable signing in its print edition.

According to the publication, Clement may try to sign such a player while on-loan player Abdallah Sima

is out for the foreseeable future.

Is another striker needed?

Rangers’ recent history with offensive players is never-ending, with so many twists and turns on the

pitch lately.

It all started last summer, when fan favourites Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos left Ibrox for free at the

end of the season after their contracts expired.

It forced Michael Beale to take significant action in the transfer window,

with the manager at the time signing four new forwards in Sima, Danilo, Cyriel Dessers, and Sam

Lammers.

Sima has been a tremendous hit, but he is currently out with a serious injury sustained at the Africa Cup

of Nations, while Danilo has dealt with a variety of injuries throughout his limited time at the club.

Dessers, meanwhile, is improving after his early problems, and Lammers has already been loaned out to

Utrecht by Clement.

The manager has already bolstered his options in the current window with the loan acquisition of Fabio

Silva from Wolves,

but another new striker signing does not appear to be out of the question.
