Rangers to announce Oscar Cortes any time after transfer news from Ibrox

Oscar Cortes will be announced by the Rangers at any point following the Ibrox transfer announcement.

Oscar Cortes’ transfer from Lens to Rangers is expected to be announced soon, since the agreement to bring him to Ibrox has been finalized, according to Four Lads Had A Dream.

The winger has landed in Glasgow and is now at Ibrox finalizing the conditions of his deal, which would see him join Philippe Clement’s side as their third January window acquisition, according to a podcast via X on Wednesday, January 31.

While no exact timescale has been placed on the announcement, Cortes is expected to be confirmed as a Rangers player sooner rather than later, with an official statement expected from the Light Blues at any time.

Writing on X, they said: “Oscar Cortes deal is done, he is here and finalising the move Expecting an announcement from Rangers at any time.”

Another one down

Rangers have really stepped up their recruitment in the final days of the January transfer window and the Gers appear to be building Clement a squad which should be more than capable of lifting the Scottish Premiership side this season.

Even if the Gers are currently behind Celtic, they should be able to close the distance before the season ends with the appropriate acquisitions this month. The signing of Cortes is a big step in the right direction.

Clement prefers to use wingers in his lineup, but the Belgian isn’t exactly spoiled for choice in those positions right now, especially with Abdallah Sima expected to miss a significant amount of time due to an injury sustained at the African Cup of Nations.

Ideally, Cortes can make it into the starting lineup and contend for a spot out wide for the Gers every week against players like Scott Wright and Rabbi Matondo. Supporters won’t have to wait too long for an announcement, that much is certain.

In other Rangers news, the team’s pursuit of Oscar Cortes at Ibrox has resulted in a new injury update.
