Former £7m Rangers man misses out on England move with his ‘desire’ questioned

His “desire” is questioned as the former £7 million Rangers player is denied a move to England.

Ryan Kent, a former winger for Rangers, was not allowed to return to England because Hull City owner Acun Ilicali turned his attention away from the misfit from Fenerbahce.

Things have quieted down around Ryan Kent after rumors surfaced just before Christmas that the former Liverpool player may be returning to the UK, just a few months after leaving Ibrox for Istanbul.

Hull City have pulled off a string of high-profile signings since being taken over by Turkish businessman Acun Ilicali, but a player who once cost Rangers a cool £7 million will not be joining Jean-Michel Seri, Ozan Tufan and Fabio Carvalho on Humberside.

Speaking to GunHaber, Ilicali admits that he simply didn’t see the ‘desire’ from Kent to kick-start his career at Hull, despite the Englishman playing a grand total of one Super Lig minute since the start of November.

Regarding Ryan Kent, this is a significant matter. Ilicali says, “Desires, appetite, and the desire to play are important.”

He says Hull have now turned their attention to Abdulkadir Omur of Trabzonspor, who was once thought of as Turkey’s Lionel Messi and was the target of a £23 million bid from none other than Manchester City.

Ilicali continues, “(Omur) is a fan favorite, and he became a fan favorite (at Hull).” “We looked to another football player because we could not see this appetite in Ryan Kent.”

Along with Alfredo Morelos, Kent departed Ibrox after his contract expired in July, and he has been said to be heading back to Glasgow’s blue side in some circles. But it looks like Rangers have silenced those rumors. Oscar Cortes of RC Lens is another right-footed left winger that Philippe Clement’s team is slated to sign. The explosive Colombian will replace “long-term” absence Abdallah Sima.

Radvan Yilmaz, a fellow countryman, is being urged by Ilicali to depart Rangers prior to the Super Lig window closing on February 9th. Galatasaray is interested in the former Besiktas left-back.
