Rangers transfer news: Fee breakdown emerges as Ridvan Yilmaz exit bid received at Ibrox amid confirmed big-money sale

Rangers transfer news: A fee breakdown is revealed as a confirmed big-money sale occurs and Ridvan Yilmaz receives an exit bid at Ibrox.

According to Ali Naci Küçük, Galatasaray has more spending power now that they are pursuing Ridvan Yilmaz, but they have no intention of raising their offer to Rangers.

The Turkish journalist claimed on Futbol Arena TV (30 January) that the Istanbul giants only want to pay a €500,000 [£426,000] loan fee, with the possibility to pay an additional €3 million [£2.56 million] to make the move permanent.

However, it doesn’t seem like they’ve increased their offer in response to Sacha Boey’s confirmed high-profile transfer from Galatasaray to Bayern Munich.

“The ball is now in Rangers’ court regarding the transfer of Galatasaray’s Rıdvan Yılmaz,” stated Naci Küçük. The money from Sacha Boey has boosted Galatasaray’s position, but they have no plans to raise the amount. 500,000 € rental cost; a 3,000,000 € buyout option

Should Galatasaray be willing to go that far, Ridvan most likely won’t be departing before the deadline.

The Gers seem unlikely to accept an offer below their reported asking price when they know the club that has made it have just sold a player to Bayern for £25.6m plus potential bonuses [The Athletic, 29 January].

As the deadline draws near, Rangers may feel more pressure to move their full-back if necessary to help finance their upcoming January business. However, if they are willing to keep him, it seems sense that they will if the latest bid’s total value doesn’t rise.

Even though the club would lose out on the deal right away, Yilmaz is playing some of his best football in Glasgow since joining from Besiktas, so it doesn’t seem like a big deal if it’s just a loan with an option attached. Yilmaz could return to the club in the summer rather than receive the cash windfall.

There may yet be movement at left-back in the upcoming days because Jefte is rumored to be on his way in and Borna Barisic’s future is uncertain.

However, it is beginning to appear that the present starter will stick around—at least for the foreseeable future—despite links to an out throughout the window.

In other Rangers news, the Light Blues have already reached an agreement to sign a new player prior to the deadline, but they will have to pay twice as much for the acquisition.
