Multi Moto GP world Champion Jorge Lorenzo joins Lazarus Corse AMR in GT3

With the announcement last week that five-time Moto GP champion Jorge Lorenzo will be joining the Lazarus Corse Aston Martin Racing Partner team this season, the team’s tentative advances from the previous year can ideally blossom into deliberate ones this time around.

The Italian-based team took custody of a brand-new AMR Vantage GT3 during the summer of the previous season. Since then, all that is known about them is that they have participated in numerous test days at different European circuits with different groups of drivers.

We still have to wait and see if last week’s news confirms the series they will compete in, the identities of their co-drivers, or whether they will be able to upgrade their current chassis to the new 2024 variant, but we do not believe that an AMR/Lorenzo versus a BMW/Valentino Rossi GT3 battle is imminent!

However, you never know!

Following his retirement from the Moto GP, Lorenzo has been honing his automotive skills in Porsche Cup cars as well as the Lamborghini Trofeo series. Upgrading to cars with full GT3 specs will need a gradual learning curve, even for Lorenzo.
