Aston Villa’s star is considered for a €10 million transfer by a Champions League club.

Current Aston Villa news from Birmingham Live: Under Unai Emery, Clement Lenglet has not yet started a Premier League match.

Clement Lenglet, a loanee from Aston Villa, is allegedly being considered by Bayern Munich as a possible January signing.

That’s according to German publication Bild, which states that manager Thomas Tuchel has made it a priority to buy a new central defender in order to fill in the defensive deficiencies. Matthijs De Ligt’s latest knee injury has made the issue worse.

The German giants are claimed to see Lenglet as a player who will solve the problem in defence. The 28-year-old is yet to start a Premier League game under Unai Emery since joining on loan from Barcelona in the summer.

In addition, the source states that Lenglet is “on the list” and that a move of roughly €10 million is “quite realistic.” Barca would, however, have the final word because they have the option of calling him back in January.

Lenglet was bought in following the long-term injury sustained by Tyrone Mings. However, the former Tottenham man has so far only made five appearances for Villa, all in the Conference League.

The Spanish powerhouses were reportedly “seriously concerned” about the player’s circumstances at Villa Park last month. Though no discussions about shortening his Villa loan are thought to have occurred, Barca are thought to be worried that his value will decline as a result of the lack of playing time.
