Rangers transfer news: Jose Cifuentes travel plan emerges amid Turkey twist

According to Rangers Review, midfielder Jose Cifuentes of Rangers will depart soon to finalize his transfer to Turkish team Rizespor.

According to a report published by the media site on January 27, he is scheduled to go on loan from Ibrox in January, with a £2 million buyout option included in the contract.

The Ecuador international is anticipated to be the second player to leave this month, with Sam Lammers departing to sign a loan with Utrecht.

Sealed?

Cifuentes, who has struggled to make an effect at Rangers under both Michael Beale and Philippe Clement, now has the chance for a fresh start at a new club, therefore this move seems to be advantageous to all parties involved.

Cifuentes found himself lower on the Ibrox hierarchy with the acquisition of Mohamed Diomande and the rise of Dujon Sterling in midfield, which limited his playing opportunities.

By accepting the offer for Cifuentes, the Gers are able to free up roster space and maybe lower their pay expenditure in addition to partially recovering their initial investment in the midfield player.

Furthermore, Gers benefit from flexibility in the loan agreement with the buyout option, as well as the potential for a future transfer fee should Cifuentes perform well at Rizespor.

In the meantime, Rizespor bolsters their roster with the addition of a gifted player who might flourish in a fresh setting.

Although Gers would have preferred to receive the money up front, it will be advantageous to remove him from the payroll.
