Ipswich Town: Nathan Broadhead returns to Wales squad for qualifiers.

Nathan Broadhead of Ipswich Town has been called up to represent Wales in their first World Cup qualifying matches. The Dragons learnt who their opponents would be in Group J, which included Belgium, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, and North Macedonia, towards the end of 2024. Whoever finishes first will advance to next summer’s North American competition, while the second-place team will enter the play-offs. Wales will host Kazakhstan in Cardiff on Saturday, March 22nd (7:45pm), before flying to Skopje to face North Macedonia on Tuesday, March 25th (7:45pm).

Broadhead was initially chosen to the Dragons’ November squad, who finished first in their Nations League B group, but a knock forced him to withdraw soon before the international break. He has already returned to work with Craig Bellamy, although Town teammate Wes Burns has missed out due to a season-ending knee injury sustained away at Liverpool in January. Broadhead has made four starts and eight cameo appearances in the Premier League this season, as well as all three FA Cup games.

The 26-year-old has 13 international caps to his name, having scored twice for this country.
