Pressure is mounting ahead of clash between Wolves and Southampton, with the appointment of Referee who’s quick in decision

Wolves recorded their first Premier League win of the season against Southampton, but there were a couple of controversies in the game.

It was the Matheus Cunha show, as the Brazilian scored and assisted in the 2-0 win at Molineux, which potentially saved Gary O’Neil’s job.

Fosun would have had a huge decision to make had Wolves not won, but O’Neil looks like he will now be in charge to face Fulham after the international break.

Wolves didn’t put in a particularly great performance, with Southampton not making all their possession count.

Wolves may well have got slightly lucky on a couple of occasions, with two decisions coming under the microscope.

One saw Southampton have a goal by Ryan Manning ruled out, and Sky pundits Sue Smith and Stephen Warnock are in agreement over the incident.

After Pablo Sarabia had put Wolves 1-0 up, Southampton then thought they had equalised.

Saints left-back Manning lashed the ball into the top corner, and the goal was given on-field. But VAR intervened, and deemed there to be a foul on Nelson Semedo just before it went in.
