Regan Poole is the latest player to commit his future to Pompey.

The central defender has signed a deal that will keep him at Fratton Park until the summer of 2027, with the club also offering a 12-month option.

He joins Colby Bishop and Terry Devlin in signing new Blues contracts in the previous three weeks, as Pompey look to retain their top players.

Poole was set to be out of contract this summer after signing a two-year deal in July 2023 following his departure from Lincoln.

He has now played 33 games and scored three goals, including beginning Sunday’s excellent 1-0 win against Leeds.

Unfortunately, the Wales international has been plagued by injuries since landing to the south coast, but when healthy, he is a polished player who is extremely loved among the Fratton crowd.

The 26-year-old is anticipated to play with Marlon Pack in the heart of defence for the third week in a row against Plymouth on Wednesday night (7.45pm) at Fratton Park.

Pompey, who are now 10 points clear of the relegation zone with ten games remaining, may take another major step toward safety if they overcome the Championship’s bottom club.
