Leeds United’s loss to Portsmouth put a blow to their aspirations of earning automatic promotion to the Premier League.
On Sunday afternoon, Pompey defeated United 1-0 at Fratton Park in the Championship match. Leeds suffered a heartbreaking loss as the home team’s lone goal of the match was scored by Colby Bishop.
After the Blades’ victory over Preston North End on Saturday, Daniel Farke’s team is currently tied with Sheffield United for the top spot in the Championship standings. In an attempt to get back to winning ways and secure automatic promotion to the Premier League, Leeds will now get ready to return to Elland Road when they play Millwall in the middle of the week.
