Sheffield Wednesday defender Ryo Hatsuse is expected to be fit this weekend, as detailed in a report
Sheffield Wednesday’s new recruit picked an issue with his calf last time out. SWFC were beaten 2-1 at home by Sunderland.
Hatsuse, 27, impressed against the Black Cats before he had to go off. He has since been assessed by the medical team at Hillsborough.
In this latest update regarding his condition, report his injury isn’t serious and that he is poised to be available again on Saturday. The Owls face a long away trip down to Home Park to play Plymouth Argyle.
Rohl said after their match against Sunderland: “Hopefully not (injured), but you never know at the moment. If you have one issue in one area then it can be a problem like this because then the other players have to play and play and play. That makes it harder. But it is OK, we will find another solution, we have a long week now to prepare.”
Sheffield Wednesday injury latest regarding Ryo Hatsuse
Having Hatsuse able to play against Plymouth Argyle will be a boost for Sheffield Wednesday as they look to return to winning ways.
He looked bright against Sunderland and looks to be a solid addition.
They snapped him up on a free transfer last month to bolster their defensive ranks.
The former Japan youth international became a free agent following the end of his deal at Vissel Kobe.
Hatsuse spent the five years with his previous team and was a key player.
He made 196 appearances for them in all competitions and scored four goals, helping them win the J League twice.
The full-back has also had spells in the past at Gamba Osaka and Avispa Fukuoka.
What now for Sheffield Wednesday?
Sheffield Wednesday need to make a final assessment on Hatsuse over the coming days as they gear up for their Plymouth Argyle match-up.
The Owls have a few injury issues to contend with right now which isn’t ideal as they eye a place in the play-offs.
They are sat in 13th place in the table with only 11 fixtures left to play.
Rohl’s men have lost their last three on the spin and are seven points off the top six.
They are still in with a shout if they can hit form again. Plymouth Argyle lost 2-0 away at Hull City on Tuesday.
