Nottingham Forest keeping tabs on Norwich City standout
Reporter Graeme Bailey claims that Nottingham Forest is considering Norwich City striker Josh Sargent.
Despite having a mixed season, Norwich City is still in a respectable position going into the final stretch. NCFC sit in an underwhelming 11th, but they’re only four points off the play-offs.
It means a strong streak over the final months of the season could yet thrust them into serious play-off contention.
Even though Josh Sargent and Borja Sainz have both missed time owing to injury and suspension, their efforts have been crucial to sustaining such flimsy aspirations. Other others have also expressed interest in the Canaries stars.
Nottingham Forest of the Premier League is reportedly one team interested in Norwich City striker Sargent.
Due to his outstanding performances, the American talisman has been scouted by clubs in the top flight, including the surprise package. Sargent is one of several targets as the team looks to add a new striker, according to writer Graeme Bailey, who speaks to Nottingham Forest News.
Sargent has been with NCFC since the summer of 2021 and after signing a new deal in 2023, he is under contract until 2028.
Starring in the Championship
If Sargent hadn’t missed so much time due to a groin injury, it’s safe to argue that Norwich City might have been in a stronger position in the Championship promotion battle.
Considering the number of games he has played, the 25-year-old has an incredible goal total. In 21 Championship games, Sargent has averaged a goal every 153 minutes while managing 11 goals and five assists.

He now has 40 goals to his name in 87 Championship games. Having previously tested himself in the Bundesliga too, it could be that the NCFC man gets another shot at Premier League football in the not-too-distant future.
Sales ahead at Norwich City?
Norwich City’s goal is to return to the Premier League, and they have talented players that can help them achieve that goal. Some, nevertheless, might believe that the moment has arrived for them to step up their game.
It’s difficult not to imagine the Canaries’ resolve being put to the test this summer, as Sargent, the previously mentioned Sainz, and midfield star Marcelino Nunez have all been linked to moves to top-flight clubs this season.
There are important players at Carrow Road who are not without interest from other places, but only time will tell if it turns into tangible actions.
