Everton tipped as the most suitable club to sign ‘amazing’ England international despite Arsenal interest

Fans are eager to see what Everton will do this summer in the transfer market – and one transfer target is presumably very suited to the Toffees.

It’s been a fantastic past couple of months since David Moyes came in as Sean Dyche’s replacement.

The Scot has steered Everton clear of the relegation zone, and masterminded some magnificent performances and results.

Attention can now switch to next season, and there’s no doubt Everton will already be looking at players who could come in and do a job.

Moyes will presumably get a robust transfer budget to deal with, and Everton can afford to spend a bit more liberally this summer.

But one player who wouldn’t cost anything in terms of a transfer fee is Angel Gomes, who Everton contemplated acquiring in January.

Data analytics firm believes Everton are the most appropriate next team for Angel Gomes

Everton are said to be interested in Angel Gomes, who is due to depart Lille this summer.

His contract expires in a few months, so there is a bargain to be had for someone.

In the report about Everton’s interest, it was alleged that Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are also maintaining tabs.

Gomes has also long been linked with Arsenal (Sky Sports), who stand to lose Thomas Partey and Jorginho on free transfers this summer.

Interestingly today, Football Transfers have carried a feature on Gomes and what the imminent future could contain for him.

The premise of the narrative is that Gomes – who has four England caps – would be squandering his career making a return to Manchester United, the club he departed to go to Lille.

But at the conclusion of their article, there is a graphic compiling data from analytics firm SciSports, which indicates the club would be the most suitable for Gomes – who has previously been labeled ‘amazing’ by his former Manchester United teammate Anthony Elanga.

And curiously, Everton are top of the table with a ‘Club Fit’ score of 84.

The ‘Club Fit’ score is purportedly calculated based on ‘a multitude of factors spanning from potential development and playing time to style and formation’.

Everton target Angel Gomes ‘will 100% depart Lille’ this summer

It is intriguing to see that Everton rank the highest in terms of next prospective destinations for Gomes.

One does question if he’ll be a player Moyes presses for, with Orel Mangala having sustained a severe knee injury, casting considerable doubt over Everton acquiring him permanently.

Fabrizio Romano has reported in GMS that Gomes ‘will 100% depart Lille’ this summer, and that Premier League interest in him is significant.

there’s also been some interest from the Bundesliga, but Everton would undoubtedly like to hope that the youngster prefers a return to the Premier League.
