Vitor Pereira receives much-needed injury boost as Wolves star set to return to first team training
After arguing with Milos Kerkez, Cunha had a violent outburst against Bournemouth and was given a straight red card.
Despite the difficulties surrounding Wolves’ star player, fans have heard some positive news regarding another significant player, even though the Brazilian has unsurprisingly dominated headlines.
Due to a pelvic injury, Rodrigo Gomes has missed the last five Wolves games. Despite having inflammation, the 21-year-old seems to have moved past those problems.
According to sources who spoke to Molineux News, the Portuguese flying winger will resume training with the Wolves first squad on Tuesday.
Gomes’ comeback is a much-needed lift for Vitor Pereira, who has been going through a difficult time with a number of important players out.
As Cinnha starts his suspension, Pereira also has more offensive options with the 21-year-old back.
Pereira’s system, which includes two number 10s and two high-flying wing-backs, is very fixed.
But now that Gomes is back and Cunha is expected to miss time due to his FA Cup red card, Pereira may want to adjust his system to accommodate the incredibly gifted wide player.
Due to a knee issue, Goncalo Guedes has not played since last month and is still doubtful for this weekend.
Even if Gomes might not be included in Wolves’ next starting lineup, the young player should still be included in the matchday squad for Saturday night’s match against David Moyes’ Toffees.
